Earth Day

This is my contribution to the Green Challenge on MadeByHand. I'll send it as ad on for the Earth Day Calligraphy Exchange. I made envelopes out of old calendar pages and sewed the calligraphed adress labels on top of it. Rubberstamp is by Quietfiredesign.

Two of those tulips started to bloom on my balcony. They smell divine! (And I love this camera of my man!)

La vie en rose

Seelenruhig forderte vor einer Weile auf, das Leben in rosarot zu sehen. Da wollte ich doch mal schaun, was mir dazu einfiel. Ich muss gestehen, daß sich mein rosa immer ein bisschen ins purpur oder lila kehrt. Aber ich glaube, es geht dennoch durch. Schaun wir mal, was mir so rosanes eingefallen ist:

Diese Blumen hat meine Tochter eines Tages von der Schule mit nach Hause gebracht. Ein riesiger Strauss von irgendwelchen verschnittenen Büschen. Der Strauss steht noch immer auf dem Balkon.

Noch immer im Nestmodus, habe ich den Stubenwagen für das Baby hergerichtet. Ein rosa-blauer Himmel, der durch die Lichtbrechung die Athmosphäre in der Gebärmutter nachahmt, so sagen die Anthroposophen. Dazu die Verkleidung des Korbes, genäht aus einem alten Bettbezug. Der Stoff ist mit einem Schutz-Mantra kalligraphiert.

Ich verbinde mich mit der Weisheit, die immer war, die durch alle Zeitalter ist, die wahre Weisheit, die erhabene grossartige Weisheit

Dann habe ich aus kleinen Stoffresten ein Biscournu genäht. Gesehen habe ich das in einem anderen Blog. Zuerst ein gesticktes, dann die Patchworkvariante. Leider weiss ich die Blog-Url nicht mehr, aber ich fand es eine nette Idee, meine vielen kleinen Stofflicken, die ich immer aufhebe, zu verarbeiten. Ging ganz schnell und taugt nun vielleicht als Nadelkissen?

Und: Meine Schachbrettblume blüht auch in diesem Jahr wieder!

Honeysuckle

Honeysuckle (Geißblatt in German). It smells divine and I can't wait for all buds to open.
There also exists a Bach Flowers Essence that is made from honeysuckle. That's what describes it (found at this shop):

During Victorian times, teenage girls were forbidden to bring honeysuckle home because it was thought to induce erotic dreams.

Clematis always reminds me of my grandfather. He had huge plants in the garden with the most amazing flowers and colours.

Now that the beautyful tulips on my balcony are withered, a new beauty appeared.

Look what beauty came back to live on my balcony this year, too. I just love her! In german it's a 'Schachbrettblume', in english I found more than one name: checkered lily, guinea-hen flower or snake's-head.

Look what beauties live on my balcony. I so enjoy their bright colour in the sun. I got the bulbs for my birthday last year from Sandra.
