Creative Wednesday

I have been very busy today as some deadlines of art swaps are approaching. I enjoy some time for myself (and the baby) and got a few things done while having the baby in the sling. It took me 3 days to finish this page for a fat book. It's made with watercolour paints and rubberstamps from Quietfiredesign (Quote and Flourish), Oxford Impressions (Nest) and Stampington (Text). It measures 20 x 20 cm.

Finally I also sewed the pillow case for a swap via Club Creative. Sandra is my partner and she wished for something that would match her brand new bedcover. I made a pillow case that has a pocket for a little journal to keep ideas. There's also a pen holder and pencil so you have something to write at hand when the ideas keep poping in your head while you snuggle on your couch.

Eating

My belly is still growing. I am in week 28 now. So far I can't complain about problems or health issues. I still feel very alive. I wish there would be more sun around here. There's also something that I realized: I started eating lots and lots of stuff. Together with my daughter teething/growing we have a much huger grocery bill (we eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables). But as long as it's healthy, I really enjoy every bit of it. In one week we ate 3 kg bananas and two kg apples (and still had to buy more), at least 10 avocados and lots of other yummie food.

Out of yarn leftover I made these:

Dolls Diapers

This weekend I finished another bunch of dolls diapers. It was a commission for a friend. I made some more and maybe will sell them in my Dawanda or etsy shop. The diapers are made of fabrics from my stash and/or recycled clothes that we don't wear anymore (t-shirts, shirts, bedsheets)

SMS Block-Along Week 1

On the sew, mama sew blog there's quilting month. First week: Three 9-patch variations.

I tried two of them (I am not so accurate it sewing them together). I used scraps of fabric that I had left and didn't do much of planning. The big one is about 18 x 18 cm and the small ones about 8 x 8 cm. I still don't know what I will do with the patches. For now I keep collecting them and maybe one day it will become a blanket or pillowcase or used in art.

Fabric ATC

And another fabric ATC to use up scraps of fabric. As you can see, it has been snowing a wee bit around here...
