Nun endlich hab ich auch den dritten Teil der Tintenwelt Serie von Cornelia Funke gelesen. Dazu hat es mehrere Anläufe gebraucht. Ich wollte mir das Buch nicht kaufen, also hab ich es aus der Bücherhalle ausgeliehen. Dort war es aber unter dem bestseller-Service, was bedeutet, daß man das Buch nur maximal 2 Wochen behalten darf, es nicht verlängern kann und zudem 2,50 Euro zahlen muss. Keine Chance für mich, so einen Wälzer in 2 Wochen zu schaffen. Also hab ich es noch während der Schwangerschaft halb gelesen zurückbringen müssen. Nach Sohnis Geburt war ich mal wieder in der Bücherhalle und da stand das Buch noch/wieder da. Und das Lesezeichenbändchen war immer noch an der Stelle, wo ich es gelassen hatte. Also hab ich einen erneuten versuch gewagt und das Buch mitgenommen. Und gelesen. Während des Stillens. Eine wirklich sehr schöne Serie. Aufregend, gut ausgedacht und ein Muss für Buchliebhaber, Buchdrucker, Buchbinder...

Inside you can be anything

For Vesnas Box so far I made a little collage (9 x 9 cm) and a folded card.

A decorated matchbox. It contains a vial with daisy seeds. the tag says: "plant a seed and it will grow"

The Rubberstamps I used are from Quietfiredesign, the eyed daisy from zettiology.

For the inside of my motherhood box I made a tag book where each participant shall decorate a page (as sign in). This is what I decorated so far:

Under the Sea

I took part in a Calligraphy Exchange with the theme "Under the Sea". As I am all for recycling, I used a paper sample for recycled paper (Silencium)from Gmund as the base for a postcard to be included with the envelope. The envelopes are vellum and you can see through and get a glimpse of the world inside. This is also my contribution for this week's Created Byhand Challenge "Quotes".

La vie en rose

Seelenruhig forderte vor einer Weile auf, das Leben in rosarot zu sehen. Da wollte ich doch mal schaun, was mir dazu einfiel. Ich muss gestehen, daß sich mein rosa immer ein bisschen ins purpur oder lila kehrt. Aber ich glaube, es geht dennoch durch. Schaun wir mal, was mir so rosanes eingefallen ist:

Diese Blumen hat meine Tochter eines Tages von der Schule mit nach Hause gebracht. Ein riesiger Strauss von irgendwelchen verschnittenen Büschen. Der Strauss steht noch immer auf dem Balkon.

Noch immer im Nestmodus, habe ich den Stubenwagen für das Baby hergerichtet. Ein rosa-blauer Himmel, der durch die Lichtbrechung die Athmosphäre in der Gebärmutter nachahmt, so sagen die Anthroposophen. Dazu die Verkleidung des Korbes, genäht aus einem alten Bettbezug. Der Stoff ist mit einem Schutz-Mantra kalligraphiert.

Dann habe ich aus kleinen Stoffresten ein Biscournu genäht. Gesehen habe ich das in einem anderen Blog. Zuerst ein gesticktes, dann die Patchworkvariante. Leider weiss ich die Blog-Url nicht mehr, aber ich fand es eine nette Idee, meine vielen kleinen Stofflicken, die ich immer aufhebe, zu verarbeiten. Ging ganz schnell und taugt nun vielleicht als Nadelkissen?

Und: Meine Schachbrettblume blüht auch in diesem Jahr wieder!

Watercolours

A friend of mine gave birth to a little son last week. I made this card. It is also for the Created By Hand Challenge with this week's theme "watercolour backgrounds". The Quote is one of my all time favourites. The stamp is from Quietfiredesign.

Who let the bunnies out?

Couldn't help myself today and play with the bunnies for the Byhand Challenge from this week. It was so much fun and I can bet that there will be a bunch of other bunnies hopping around, soon. My daughter had fun as well playing with my punchers and cutting flowers and butterflies (she now claims all the bunnies for herself...) Rubberstamps from Quietfiredesign.

Byhand Challenge "Glossy Paper"

Last week's ByHand Challenge "Glossy Paper".
The postcards will go out for a Red Postcard Swap via Calligraphyexchange.

The paper is Arctic Gloss from Munken (I have lots of different paper samples at home, which I use for my arts & crafts). I treated it with alcohol inks and stamped on it with a quote stamp from Quietfiredesign.

Moo

I am still here. Yesterday I relaxed myself a bit doing some art challenges that are around here. I have a brand new art and work room now as we managed to make my flat pretty during the weekend. Now the former art and living room is living room only and the small room is my studio (<--hehe, how that sounds). The room where the computer and art stuff is located. Because I couldn't live with all the mess any longer. Now I have a cozy and clean living room, too. yay. Maybe I shall make pictures later.

Here's one of the challenges I was working on. It's for the "Make a moo, or two" theme "friendship". I worked the moo into a card when it was done. The stamp is from Quietfiredesign.
