A day with a teacher is worth a thousand pages. chinese proverb
Saturday I spent doing pranayama all day long. I was on the Pranayama workshop with my teacher Nanak Dev Singh again (have done it before in November). What an experience. Got up at 4 a.m. to go there. at 6 the warm up started. We came there a bit later as the bus didn't go like I thought it would. Fortunately Nanak Dev had to talk and explain a lot, so they didn't start in time. So after the talking and explaining there was some warm up with Stretch Pose and Breath of Fire and then we went into the first round of the kriya. It is a kriya that has 4 parts of 3 minutes (12 minutes total) and has to be repeated for 40 times. So including breaks that made a day of 13,5 hours pranayama (last time we did it, it took us 15 hours). What a challenge, what an experience. But despite my head cold I felt really energetic and not tired at all. At the end my knees gave in and today I still have a bit sore muscles between my legs from sitting in Easy Pose most of the time.
People have been lovely, food as well. I really like the potluck thing that is there when workshops are. Each person brings a little bit of food for everyone to share. So there's a rich variety of the yummiest food. All of it vegetarian. I made a salad of bulgur and grilled vegetables with dried tomatoes. Hm. Nanak Dev Singh was great again. He has this talent of carrying the whole group through the day, entertaining with his sense of humor and his stories about his life, experiences, vedic tradition, shamanism and Yogi Bhajan.
Last time after the pranayama day I needed less food for at least 4 weeks. I was supercharged with prana. Let see what the effect of this time will be. Hopefully feeling more energetic to face my diploma.
