10 more weeks. I definitely entered the nesting mode...
My belly is still growing. I am in week 28 now. So far I can't complain about problems or health issues. I still feel very alive. I wish there would be more sun around here. There's also something that I realized: I started eating lots and lots of stuff. Together with my daughter teething/growing we have a much huger grocery bill (we eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables). But as long as it's healthy, I really enjoy every bit of it. In one week we ate 3 kg bananas and two kg apples (and still had to buy more), at least 10 avocados and lots of other yummie food.
Out of yarn leftover I made these:
Last Minute Christmas present for my friend (pattern can be found here). The black was not so easy to picture. fingerless gloves.
Socks for myself. The yarn is hand dyed I think with walnut skins and onion skins. I got the idea for the cat stiching from a children activity book from my daughter. It's about Lisbeth, the little witch and they had socks with a similar cat head which I found totally cute. So I had to make them. Thanks Germaine for helping out with the last bit of yarn.
Elf Clog (pattern here. Flickr photo pool here) for my secret santa sister via Club Creative
I felt like making a doll again. The body and limbs didn't turn out too well, but all in all it's a cute guy. The overall is knit with wool from my stash, which I once dyed with elderberries.
To use up the broken skeins of the scarf wool, I decided to make little baby leggins. Therefor I losely followed the pattern for the cashmere leggins in "Simple knits for cherished babies". I wish I had found the pink skein much earlier in my stash, so I could have planned the stripes in another way. But however, I find it rather cute and I think the baby won't care which colour and pattern it wears :-)
Oh, which means for those who don't already know: I am pregnant :-)))
I think it must have been 3 years or so that I worked on this scarf. At least it was one of my long term UFO's. But now, during a long phonecall with my beloved one, I could finish it and add the little doll & pouch yesterday (during another phonecall). I am very pleased how it turned out. The scarf will go to Finland to warm the neck of a dear friend's daughter. I just love handmade gifts.
I finished those HP dishcloths for a Hogwarts Swap. Gryffindor Style. I had so much fun making them.
And I made another bunch of sewn diapers for a friend, who asked me to make some for her daughters bd. Part of the fabric is a recycled pillowcover.
A while ago I was asked to knit some socks for a friend. Here they are:
At the weekend I finally finished my pullover (started in early summer). I am soo happy! Isn't it beautyful?
